<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Currently, the number of patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) is increasing in the world. In Russia, the number of patients with CHF has doubled over the past decades. CHF is closely related to the aging process, including cellular and anatomical changes in the heart and blood vessels. The management of CHF should consider the patient's functional, cognitive, emotional, and social status. Thus, when forming an individual plan, it is necessary to consider the functional class and left ventricular ejection fraction and the presence or absence of specific geriatric syndromes. In this article, we tried to look at a patient with CHF through 4 domains: medical condition, emotional and cognitive status, physical and social activity. This comprehensive approach will help improve both the duration and quality of life of older patients.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>гериатрические синдромы</kwd><kwd>синдром старческой астении</kwd><kwd>доменный подход</kwd><kwd>хроническая сердечная недостаточность</kwd><kwd>гериатрия</kwd><kwd>кардиология</kwd><kwd>саркопения</kwd><kwd>мальнутриция</kwd><kwd>когнитивные нарушения</kwd><kwd>деменция</kwd><kwd>депрессии</kwd><kwd>риск падений</kwd><kwd>полипрагмазия</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>geriatric syndromes</kwd><kwd>frailty</kwd><kwd>domain approach</kwd><kwd>heart failure</kwd><kwd>geriatrics</kwd><kwd>cardiology</kwd><kwd>sarcopenia</kwd><kwd>malnutrition</kwd><kwd>cognitive impairment</kwd><kwd>dementia</kwd><kwd>depression</kwd><kwd>risk of falls</kwd><kwd>polypharmacy</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Benjamin E.J., Blaha M.J., Chiuve S.E., et al.
