<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Of the order of 51% of the world's population consider religion an important part of their lives. It is obvious that most believers will follow various lifestyle recommendations, including dietary habits. These features may affect the course of a number of chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus, which in older people may affect life expectancy. Timely awareness of potential risks and providing optimal medical care options for people over 65 will reduce the risk of complications in the outcome of religious dietary restrictions.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>питание</kwd><kwd>гипогликемия</kwd><kwd>сахарный диабет</kwd><kwd>сердечно-сосудистая система</kwd><kwd>дислипидемия</kwd><kwd>гериатрия</kwd><kwd>пост</kwd><kwd>голодание</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>nutrition</kwd><kwd>hypoglycemia</kwd><kwd>diabetes mellitus</kwd><kwd>cardiovascular system</kwd><kwd>dyslipidemia</kwd><kwd>geriatrics</kwd><kwd>fasting</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Tan Min Min, Chan C.K.Y., Reidpath D.
